AFEN – Fraher | 2 | 2 | 2 | Win |
FC Británico | 0 | 0 | 0 | Loss |
FCB started the game with a low winter sun in their eyes and some dodgy passing. Scrappy and nervous the first few minutes were not enjoyable at all as Fraher pressed high. Fraher struck after five minutes with a long effort (50 yards or so) catching Jorge off his line and blinded by the sun 1-0. The men in red had some chances as Macca saw his effort rattle off the underside of the bar. If only there was goal-line technology in Bunwer. The scrappy play continued and Fraher had the better of it. The ball broke to the opposition number nine in good form and he spanked the ball in the top bin from 25 yards. 2-0. Nerves, ill-discipline and poor passing were costly and most attacks faltered for a frustrated Británicos side.
Half-time 2-0
Rami was clear, concise and calm at half-time. He wanted more attack and an accuracy not yet seen. Michael came off for newcomer Jack to make his debut and Craig came off for Vico. The play was better. Defensively and offensively. But Fraher were clogging the areas of play and FCB weren’t switching it quick enough. Half chances and time wasting we’re rife. The referee calling both captains for a stern scolding which was adamantly argued by the opposition captain. This did not have the desired effect. Rami switched things up. Macca off for Ottoman, Luigi for Dorus (No Flying Dutchman, Omar was put up top) and Rama for Ciaran. Omar made a nuisance of himself by using his physicality to manipulate defenders. A photo of the carnage he caused is on the Facebook page. One man wrecking ball came to mind. It wasn’t enough as time was whittled away to the detriment of the entertainment.
