It was a day to forget for GVO Cuenca on a cold dark Saturday morning in December, as FCB arrived in Alameda in the Xmas spirit, picking up another 3 points and hitting their opponents for 12 in a pulsating display. The league leaders got the game underway against the Bunwers basement boys, and from the outset it was a game of attack and defence, with the home side content to sit and defend compactly on Madrid´s smallest pitch. It was the visitors who made the breakthrough after 15 minutes after midfield maestro Cant capitalized on a loose ball in the penalty area and picked the bottom corner. 0-1 FCB. Shortly after the opener Majid slotted home after good work from Zac on the left. 0-2 FCB. Majid bagged his second in as many minutes, after a fantastic team move Mellons´ excellently delivered cross was met by the head of Majid to make it 0-3. Shortly before the break Harry made it 4 after creating space and expertly smashing the ball past the oncoming keeper.

The game resumed and it was a case of damaged limitations for the home team, and when Cant bagged his second of the game with an excellent long range effort, it was a case of how many for the Brits. 0-5. Harry made it his hat trick on the 60 minute mark with a finish that exuded confidence after an excellent team move and great play from Keith. 0-6. Moments later it was 0-7 after Bosetti was rewarded with a goal after fantastic play on the right hand side, making no mistake in beating the keeper from 8 yards out. Another great team move down the left resulted in Mellons´cross hitting the head of Jason and flying in to the top corner. 0-8. Moments later GVO Cuenca were gifted with an equalizer as keeper Josue,suffering from boredom, carried and handled the ball outside of the 18, GVO bagged a consolation with the resulting free kick. 1-8. El capitano Harry made it 9 almost instantly after the restart with another fantastic finish. Moments later Talbot added to the tally,smashing the ball in to the top corner after a dazzling run and several Neville step overs. 1-10. The rout wasn´t over, and in the final minutes Harry and Cant finished off an excellent display by both scoring and sealing an emphatic performance for each. 1-12. Full time, 1-12. It was an emphatic display for the Brits, who played with an air of confidence that has been missing in previous weeks. A performance they will hope to repeat next week in the vital top of the table clash at home to AAPLA.
