Following a two week winter break FCB got back to business with a Saturday morning trip to Coslada to face the recently rejuvenated Maycometal. With a host of key players missing, Majids´squad was severely depleted for this feisty and controversial affair.

The Brits, lining up 4-5-1 and sporting their new kit sponsored by Asian Street Food Restaurant TukTuk got the game underway kicking from right to left. The opening ten minutes were lacklustre and neither team was able to retain the ball and make use of possession. With both teams seemingly content to play the long ball, a moment of magic ensued as Cant and Bosetti linked excellently on the edge of the 18 and Bosetti curled the ball superbly in to the top corner of the net. 0-1 FCB. The game had barely restarted when a defensive mix up allowed the Maycometal forward a free header from a looping throw in to equalise. 1-1. Moments later FCB lost midfield maestro Cant to injury, who was replaced by Coach Lee Fletcher. Chances were few and far between and FCB talisman Harry was often left isolated leading the line. The first half played out without incident and both teams headed in , with the Mayco´ manager perhaps the happier of the two.

HALF TIME 1-1

FCB restarted the second half with a renewed vigour and belief, with left winger Majid looking dangerous and direct from the outset. El capitano Harry flicked on a Fletcher throw in to Bosetti, who calmly beat his man and dispatched the ball past the onrushing goalkeeper. 1-2 FCB. The Brits continued to look dangerous and front man Harry worked tirelessly in front of a midfield unit that battled and competed throughout. Fouls and underhand tactics became prominent in a game running high on intensity, and on the 70 minute mark a brawl broke out between both benches and players. After five minutes the referee restored order and a flurry of cards were brandished. Both teams were tiring and the game began to lack pace and quality. With 80 minutes played, Majid dispossessed the opposition and struck the ball on the half volley from 35 yards in to the top corner. A moment of brilliance and individual skill worthy of winning any game. 1-3. FCB, having used all of their substitutions looked fatigued but continued battling and were unlucky to allow Mayco´ a lifeline after some slack defending in the closing minutes. A goalmouth scramble resulted in a goal, and set up a grand stand finale. 2-3 FCB. In the final minute Fletcher cleared off the line, and man of the match Ally put his head where it hurt and magnificently defended a definite goal scoring opportunity. Despite the 11 minutes of added time, FCB demonstrated their quality and true grit to leave Coslada with maximum points.

This was a game that lacked the usual quality the league leaders have displayed, but in terms of spirit and resilience will be hard pressed to be matched. Every player grafted and did their shirt proud. Coach Majid: ´´ I am very proud of my boys today, in terms of results this is the best so far of the season under the circumstances´´. Next week the league leaders travel to the happy hunting ground Vallecas to meet City rivals and basement boys Amivajes.
