The Britanicos visited the league leaders Union Selección in high spirits on Saturday. Majids men arrived at the Canodromo on the back of a well earned point, with a league record boasting only one loss in their last 23 outings.

It was the hosts, sporting their black and white strip and kicking from right to left who took the lead on 11 minutes. After being cheaply dispossessed FCB failed to close down a shot from the edge of the box which was drilled in to the bottom corner.1-0. Despite the early set back FCB rallied and enjoyed a good spell, which saw Captain Harry denied by the cross bar fom 25 yards out. Further chances to equalize came and went, most notably when towering centre back Thomsen headed narrowly wide from an in swinging corner. On the 20 minute mark FCB got their equalizer, some excellent work from Cant allowed Harry to finish expertly and level the tie. A well worked move that demonstrated how creative and dangerous the two can be when working together in the new look system. 1-1. The game remained level for ten minutes, before a direct ball to the wing wasn´t dealt with and the resulting cross was headed across goal and out of the reach of keeper Josue in to the back of the net. 2-1.

2-1 Half time.
The boys headed in at half time knowing that they were unfortunate to be behind. A combination of giving away possession cheaply and failing to defend in numbers had cost the Brits two cheap goals. On the other hand the Brits had looked dangerous going forward, with the front men lively and working the channels well. All to play for at half time.
The second half got underway and FCB started on the front foot pressing and creating chances in the opening minutes. 6 minutes after the restart Talbot won the ball before playing through Majid who found Cant on the edge of the area, the number nine made no mistake in side footing the ball calmly in to the back of the net. 2-2. The referee became the star of the show brandishing cards and awarding petulant free kicks. On the 65 minute mark goal scorer Cant picked up his second yellow of the game after reacting angrily to a dangerous tackle. With ten men FCB faced an uphill challenge, and found themselves playing large spells without possession. The back four were kept busy with the intelligent movement and trickery of the opposing number 12, but the two centre backs dealt with the threat well. In the final moments Harry saw an excellent left footed volley agonizingly rebound off the cross bar and come back out. An excellent effort that surely would have wrapped up the three points. The referee blew the whistle and FCB left the pitch knowing they had been good value for a point with ten men.

It is not the result that the FCB management team would have settled for before kick off, but the performance and solidarity of this young Britanicos team was outstanding. After the game gaffer Rami Majid said ´´he was proud of the boys for what he believed to be an excellent performance and effort´´. FCB travel to Banco de España next week in the pursuit of three points.
