FCB started off the match totally in control. We passed the ball around comfortably and the opposition barely got out of their own half. Despite having the lions share of the possession the goals were not forthcoming. The defence had nothing to do but mop up the long balls that were being sent in desperation. The breakthrough finally came when Macca shot from 35 yards and the keeper pulled off a fantastic save, however not being able to catch the blazing strike The Fox in the box tapped it in and got his first of the game. 1-0. The play continued at a pace that both Rami and Fleck didn’t approve of. So Alberto moved to midfield, Macca to CB and Alvaro to RB. The instructions were simple, intensity. FCB had the opposition frantically scrambling to stop the goals. Luigi ran through onto a perfect ball and slotted it in. 2-0.

HALF TIME

The tactics were changed at half time and the midfield went for the diamond formation. This made an already one sided match brutal. The game was being played in the Amaviajes half and they looked no closer to getting to the FCB goal line. The inevitable happened when Andrew got his second of the game by cooly finishing past the keeper. 3-0. Confidence was growing and everyone was willing to have a crack at goal. The forth came when Jordan banged in a screamer from the edge of the box. 4-0. Changes were made with Alvaro coming off for Matt and Luigi coming off for Calum and Ali for Simon. The fresh legs kept the pressure on and FCB went for 5. It came through Alberto bursting into the box and claiming and well deserved goal. 5-0. The next change came when Macca, who had been a rock in the centre of defence all game came off for Yago. The referee seemed to be calling for offside every few minutes. Callum who had been putting the strikers through on goal, and anyone else for the that matter, for fun slotted Andrew through on goal and the Fox got his hat-trick. 6-0. The full time whistle blew and FCB came away with the bench sitting there thinking, it should have been more.
