8/1/2012 – Palomeras
The Britanico Regional boys get 2012 off to a flyer with maximum points away from home to ADEPO Palomeras.
Match Report from Michael Langan
“After a promising finish to 2011, FCB travelled to ADEPO Palomeras looking for their first away points of the season. Neil Moran, sporting a smashing new haircut, was hopeful of three points against a side rooted to the bottom of the table. In favourable weather conditions, and with a wide park which made it possible to get the ball down and play, FCB lined up: Hutch, Seba, Will, Alan, Fernando, James, Stevie Mac, Lee, Dave Pugh, Yoichi and Pat. Beginning dynamically, and pressing the ball well, FCB quickly took control of the game, and looked set to press home their superiority with a goal. However, after a degree of confusion, they found themselves, undeservedly, a goal down inside the first fifteen minutes. Undeterred, FCB kicked on, and continued to press, with the midfield five knocking the ball around nicely, and linking well with Pat up front. Soon, they were rewarded for their efforts, after Seba met a Lee Armstrong set piece, only to see his effort saved. However, as he has a happy knack recently of doing, James Hamilton was on hand to turn in from at least one yard to level the scores. FCB finished the half strongly, and should probably have taken the lead, but the scores remained level until half time.
