Recap
This weeks match report is something that I neither want to write or followers of the club want to read, but even the disappointing games need to be spoken of. Here we go…
KICK OFF
The game kicked off with FCB trying to pass the ball around with their usual skill, this was not the result. Stray passes were common and a condensed midfield did not seem to get flowing. A few chances were made but no real test of the keeper was succeeded. Bar Galicia were disciplined and played a very well organised game. They broke with long balls from defence and managed to cause the bench some distress at times. The offside rule was a particular point of contention for FCB, our strikers went through on goal and the referee blew for offsides more than Tarantino’s characters use that lovely four letter word. Zach moving to centre and Foxy to the right did not make an impact. The law of averages would suggest we were onside for some, the match official didn’t seem to agree. A disappointing first half ended at 0-0.
HALF TIME
The half started with FCB looking to break the deadlock through passing with more speed and intensity, Fleck’s favourite word, but it was not meant to be. It continued much the same way the first half did, frustratingly difficult to watch as BAR G went about putting in tough tackles and raising a few eyebrows on the sidelines. Bruised and battered FCB did not give up and continued to look for a way through. Foxy came off for Alexis, who put some of that dribbling prowess to good use. Then Alex came off for Alvaro and Alberto went to CB, Alvaro played some fabulous passes through the defence but alas it was becoming a nightmare of a day. BAR G went through on goal and should have scored were it not for some great defending from the lads at the back. Finally Ali came off for Macca who tried to pressure the tired legs on the field and came close with a strike from distance. It ended 0-0 and the coaching staff were as dejected as the players. Some real thinking would need to be done in order to ensure this is never to be repeated.
FULL TIME 0-0.
