You can’t judge a book by its cover the saying goes and this was certainly applicable to Cafeteria El Frances on Saturday morning. The corresponding fixture last season was marred by trouble and abandoned with about 5 minutes to play due to CEF losing control with promises of “we won’t forget this” so FCB could be forgiven for thinking this would be war (as talk of boxing gloves and Muay Thai fighters being brought testified). However, the South Americans were a shadow of themselves this time around and the match passed off peacefully with FCB notching a further victory 1-2.
MATCH FACT: Cafeteria El Frances is apparently a real cafe in Vallecas, Madrid which serves a fantastic breakfast and has very pleasant waiters! The Peruvian connection is however a mystery but safe to say then that none of the players are waiters!!!
