FCB Strike Back!

13/05/2012 – La Elipa

FCB Regional 3-1 ADEPO-Palomeras

FCB Regional’s patience was rewarded on Sunday with a fine team performance and a convincing victory against Palomeras. The game had been billed as a battle of the basement, however, there was a clear gulf in class from the kick-off. FCB took early control of the game in the midday heat, Mark opening the scoring with a powerful strike. However, the defensive slip-ups that have haunted the Brits all season returned and Palomeras were gifted a couple of opportunities to get back into the game. With half time approaching, they took one. The Britanicos failed to organise themselves at a set-piece and Palomeras fired into the top corner from a seemingly innocuous position. The second half saw FCB reassert their control on the game, growing in confidence and always looking the more likely to score. With 15 minutes remaining, the goal finally came after a route one long ball and a fine run and finish from Nick Boyle. Bobby Wang then made sure of the win, popping up at the back post to loop a header over the helpless Palomeras keeper. A welcome 3 points for the Brits and a confident performance to boot.
