Bar Los Timbales 2-5 FCB Bunwer

Rami’ lads won tImageheir second game on the bounce this morning away to Bar Los Timbales thanks to goals from Gomm, Langan, Carling and a brace from Ishmael Majid. Again, the brits made their lives difficult with substandard defending, first going a goal down early in the game, then later giving away a 2-1 lead. With FCB in the ascendancy, there were some handbags after a horror tackle from Bar Los Timbales on Ishmael Majid which saw them reduced to 10 men. Ultimately though, the brits superior strength and creativity won through and they continue their hunt to stay in the top 12.

Match report from Michael Langan

“Fresh from an encouraging win last Saturday, FCB Bunwer looked to take another step towards a top 12 finish with an away fixture against Bar Los Timbales. FCB lined up Yea, Tom, Don, Ojo, Reece, Michael, Nick, Chaz, Ishmael, Bini and George. FCB started sluggishly, and resorted to the back to front method of play which has troubled all season and thus again it proved the case. The opening twenty minutes were somewhat turgid, with neither side offering any real threat or indication of quality. However, after a routine ball wasn’t dealt with in the FCB backline, FCB found themselves a goal down after a smart finish eluded the oncoming Matt Yea. While FCB were playing well below their capability, being a goal down was a little harsh. From here, however, FCB rallied and began to become more positive, and were rewarded when George slammed home an equaliser from the edge of the box.

The second half began as the first had finished, with FCB in the ascendancy and pushing for a goal to take them in front. Ten minutes into the second half, they found it with Ishmael turning in a excellent cross at the back post. However, as has often been the case this season, FCB allowed concentration to drop, and were punished when a wonderful 20 yard free kick bamboozled Matt Yea to restore parity between the sides. Rami looked to freshen things up and introduced Sean Powell into the action, who offered a sense of vitality and urgency which had perhaps been absent from the display hitherto. FCB were ahead once more after a lovely lay off from Reece was fired home by the oncoming Michael. From here, the match became a little one sided, and FCB upped the tempo and killed the game when Reece slotted home after an excellently weighted ball from Ishmael Madjid. With five minutes to go, the rout was complete when Ishmael capped off a welcome return to form with an excellent solo run, and terrific finish to give FCB their second victory in as many weeks and consign to history a truly awful period in the season. From here, FCB are looking for one more victory from their remaining fixtures to guarantee top 12 action. However, with high flying Superefectivo to come next Saturday, a little more than has been on offer as of recent will need to be found if anything is to be taken from that fixture.”
Silky’s final thought…
“The comeback continued for FCB Bunwer this weekend with a reasonably comfortable win over Bar Los Timbales but not without a few scares along the way.  Rami’s bold statement of ‘lets get this game won by half time’ soon became optmistic at best as FCB laboured to get a foothold on the game and there wasn’t much in it at the break.  Stern words at half time though must have jolted the Brits into life and they took control of proceedings.  Over exuberant celebrations at the fifth goal sparked protestations from the home side but these final games are cup finals for FCB……give us a break boys!”
MOTM: Michael, Ishamel and George
