FCB unable to give departing player final hurrah

FCB looked to bounce back from last week’s meek 3-1 reversal to Maycometal with a home game against Superefectivo. Again FCB had strength in numbers, but lined up: Yea, Ally, Ojo, Omar, departing captain Reece, Michael, Josh, Zach, Nick, Ishmael and Mark. FCB began promisingly, causing Superefectivo trouble down the flanks, but unable to find the composure and finesse to make the most of these opportunities. Twenty minutes in, however, Superefectivo did just this, going ahead with virtually their first effort of the game, a fine 20 yard strike well beyond the reach of Yea. Again FCB continued to plug away, but with little success and, after a harsh free kick was given against them, FCB were two down just before half time.

FCB began the second half, much as the first ended- with a lot of toil and very little quality to accompany it. Sadly, their visitors were in clinical form, and were three nothing up following a thunderous strike from the edge of the area. From here, FCB’s heads went down, although the effort remained beyond question. It was not to be their day, and another two avoidable goals consigned them to a heavy defeat on home soil. On certain occasions, FCB have been let down by effort but, today, it was the quality and finesse which proved the real difference and FCB can have no real complaints.
MOTM: Reece Carling
A final note to wish the MOTM (and POTY in waiting) a safe trip back to the UK and to thank him for all his efforts, both at regional and Bunwer level, this year. A great miss, and a great disappointment not to have sent him off on a more positive note.
For FCB Bunwer, the final curtain call comes this week, and the last chance to hoist themselves from the foot of the table which they have again slipped to. The season has had too many up’s, particularly in its formative stages, to end the season at the foot of the table (albeit the Championship table) and a win this Saturday should be enough to avoid it. It will also mark the last game for many in the squad, mainly top club man Matt Yea so defeat really should not be an option.
Kick off is 10.00 at La Elipa, so come on down and give the guys some support in their final game.
However, for now, hasta luego to the handsome Geordie.
