FCB went into their second game of the season with a few injuries/absentees plus a late arriving Scandinavian. The hosts had been struggling to put a team together and from the look of it also a matching kit.

FCB lined up with a 3-5-1 formation with Josue in goal for the first time this season and then a back three of the returning Rama, Christian and Dorus. In front of them Quique, Zak, Luigi, Christoph and Isma with 2 goal hero Dom up front on his own. Straight from the kick off FCB looked up for it and attacked AAPLA at will. AAPLA with some desperate and sometimes over the top defending. FCB deservedly took the lead on 18 minutes. Christoph FCB’s Austrian master collected the ball in midfield, saw the vertically challenged goalkeeper off his line and struck a sweet shot straight into the top corner. The opposition keeper dived in vain but could only see it fly past. FCB continued to press for a second goal but were being frustrated by a very soft referee who seemed to give fouls for almost anything and not helped by the opposition players screaming out in agony at every challenge. Despite all the pressure FCB were unable to add to their tally and went in 1-0 up at half time.

0-1 Half Time

The second half started off in much the same fashion with FCB having the bulk of possession but AAPLA trying to get somei¡thing on the counter and going down at every opportunity. Rami made a change taking off Dom who had run his socks off and put on Fabian the late arriving Scandinavian. Zak moved up front and Fabian took up his position screening the back three. The move paid off within minutes when Ismael latched onto Zak’s pass and coolly finished past the opposition keeper 0-2. FCB were taking control more and more with Zak and Isma influencing matters more and more and it was no surprise when on 75 minutes Zak was brought down in the box and the ref had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Zak brushed himself down and calmly put the ball away to put FCB 0-3 up. The opposition were looking more deflated and after some changes including the introduction of new boy Dundee Dave it looked like that would be it until Zak won another penalty in stoppage time and once again didn’t miss from 12 yards. The ref blew his whistle before play was even able to restart and FCB continued their winning start to the season.
